SDM College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Hassan was established in 1992 at Hassan, equidistant from Bangalore and Mangalore on National Highway 75 on a 40 acre green campus. The institute aims in imparting quality Ayurveda education, health care service and research. It has well equipped 15 teaching departments, extensive library, skill lab, manuscript laboratory, teaching pharmacy, research wing and a herbal garden. Health service is catered in specialty outpatient departments. The in-house facility at different levels of accommodation is serving health seekers in a 360 bedded hospital.

The institute offers under-graduation of 5 ½ years, post- graduation in 15 specialities of 3 years duration comprising medical and surgical courses, Ph.D. and various Certificate courses for medical and non- medical professionals. International universities and health organizations have joined hands with this esteemed institution to globalize Ayurveda.
